Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Indubitable! 1 What is the Reality? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 in a high Garden, 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 Vanished has my power from me." 29 (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. 32 Verily he was wont not to believe in Allah, the Mighty. 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
