Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. 5 And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. 9 and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 its fruits are near. 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 And not known my account! 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor. 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 Nor any food save filthy corruption. 36 that none excepting the sinners eat.' 37
