Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The true event! 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark), 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 in a high Garden, 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 [And all who are thus blest will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer in return for all [the good deeds] that you have sent ahead in days gone by!" 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 I am bereft of power." 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
