Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Hour! 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) 4 So destroyed were the Thamud by a storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 In an elevated garden, 22 with its fruits within easy reach. 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 and had not known my account. 26 "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! 27 “My wealth did not in the least benefit me.” 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 [Thereupon the command will go forth:] "Lay hold of him, and shackle him, 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
