Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WE SENT NOAH to his people to warn them before the painful punishment came upon them. 1 [And Noah] said: "O my people! I am but a plain warner to you, [sent to tell you] 2 “That you must worship Allah and fear Him, and obey me.” 3 "He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Verily, the term of Allah when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you but knew." 4 He said, “My Lord! I invited my people night and day.” 5 but my pleas have only increased their aversion. 6 And whenever I called them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, and wrapped them in their garments, and persisted, and waxed very proud. 7 Then verily I have called unto them publicly 8 “Then I also told them publicly and also spoke to them softly in private.” 9 and told them, "Ask forgiveness from your Lord; He is All-forgiving". 10 He will let loose the sky upon you in abundance 11 And help you with wealth and sons, and make for you gardens, and make for you rivers. 12 What is amiss with you that you do not look forward to the majesty of Allah 13 While He has created you in (different) stages [i.e. first Nutfah, then 'Alaqah and then Mudghah, see (VV. 23:13, 14) the Quran]. 14 Do you not see how God has fashioned seven skies one above the other, 15 "'And made the moon a light in their midst, and made the sun as a (Glorious) Lamp? 16 And Allah has made you grow out of the earth as a growth: 17 He will make you return to it and then take you out of it again. 18 And Allah has made for you the earth wide spread (an expanse). 19 That ye may thread the valley-ways thereof. 20
