Jinns (Al-Jinn)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Say: It has been revealed to me that a party of the jinn listened, and they said: Surely we have heard a wonderful Quran, 1 "which guides to the Right Way; so we have come to believe in it, and we will not associate aught with Our Lord in His Divinity”; 2 And (we believe) that He - exalted be the glory of our Lord! - hath taken neither wife nor son, 3 And that our foolish one has been saying about Allah an excessive transgression. 4 And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie. 5 Some men used to seek refuge with the jinn in the past, but that only increased their insolence. 6 Those people thought, like you, that God would never send down a Messenger. 7 'And we have sought to reach the heaven; but found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. 8 we used to take up a position to listen, but whoever listens now finds a flaming fire lying in wait for him -- 9 And we know not whether harm is boded unto all who are in the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth guidance for them. 10 Some of us are righteous, but some are otherwise, we are sects that differ. 11 'But we think that we can by no means frustrate Allah throughout the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 When we heard the Guidance, we believed in it, and whosoever believes in his Lord shall fear neither shortage nor injustice. 13 Some of us are obedient while others are wrongdoers; it is the obedient who have found the right path, 14 but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.” 15 (Say): "If they keep to the right path We shall give them water in abundance to drink 16 That We may test them thereby, and whoso turneth away from the remembrance of his Lord; He will thrust him into ever-growing torment. 17 And the places of worship are only for Allah, so pray not unto anyone along with Allah. 18 ‘And that when Allah’s bondman stood up to worship Him, the jinns had almost crowded upon him.’” 19
