Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ SAY: "I HAVE been informed that a number of jinns had listened; then said: 'We have heard the wondrous Qur'an, 1 guiding to rectitude. We believe in it, and we will not associate with our Lord anyone. 2 for [we know] that sublimely exalted is our Sustainer's majesty: no consort has He ever taken unto Himself, nor a son! 3 and that “the foolish among us have been wont to say outrageous things about Allah”; 4 'And verily, we thought that men and jinns would not utter a lie against Allah. 5 and that “some from among the humans used to seek protection of some among the jinn, and thus they increased the arrogance of the jinn”; 6 so much so that they came to think, as you [once] thought, that God would never [again] send forth anyone [as His apostle]. 7 "'And [so it happened] that we reached out towards heaven: but we found it filled with mighty guards and flames, 8 We would sit there on seats to hear; but any listening now finds a meteor in wait for him. 9 And we know not whether evil is boded for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth for them a right direction. 10 And some of us are the righteous, and some of us are otherwise; we are sects differing. 11 We have realized that we could never thwart God on earth and that we would never be able to thwart Him by flight. 12 'And as for us, since we have listened to the Guidance, we have accepted it: and any who believes in his Lord has no fear, either of a short (account) or of any injustice. 13 "'Yet [it is true] that among us are such as have surrendered themselves to God - just as there are among us such as have abandoned themselves to wrongdoing. Now as for those who surrender themselves to Him - it is they that have attained to consciousness of what is right; 14 And as for the Qasitun (disbelievers who deviated from the Right Path), they shall be firewood for Hell, 15 And proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “I have received the divine revelation that ‘Had they remained upright on the straight path, We would have given them abundant water.’ 16 So We might test them therein. And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put into arduous punishment. 17 And that the mosques are Allah's, therefore call not upon any one with Allah: 18 "Yet when the Devotee of Allah stands forth to invoke Him, they just make round him a dense crowd." 19
