Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, 'Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an. 1 It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. 2 and that “He – exalted be His Majesty – has not taken to Himself either a wife or a son”; 3 The dimwit one (the devil) among us has been telling confused lies about God. 4 'But we do think that no man or spirit should say aught that untrue against Allah. 5 But some men used to seek refuge with some jinns, and this increased their waywardness; 6 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). 7 We sought to pry into the secrets of the heavens, but found it full of fierce guards and shooting flames. 8 And we were wont to sit on seats therein to listen; but whosoever listeneth now findeth for him a dartin meteor in wait. 9 'And we know not whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends for them a Right Path. 10 and that “some of us are upright and some of us are otherwise for we follow widely divergent paths”; 11 Indeed, we thought that we should never be able to frustrate God in the earth, neither be able to frustrate Him by flight. 12 When we heard the guidance, we believed in it; and whosoever believes in his Lord, he shall fear neither paltriness nor vileness. 13 And that some of us are those who submit, and some of us are the deviators; so whoever submits, these aim at the right way: 14 But those who are iniquitous will be fuel for Hell. 15 If they had followed the right path, We would have provided them with abundant rain -- 16 That We may test them thereby, and whoso turneth away from the remembrance of his Lord; He will thrust him into ever-growing torment. 17 ‘And that the mosques are for Allah only – therefore do not worship anyone along with Allah.’ 18 and when Allah's servant stood up to call on Him, they well-nigh swarmed him. 19
