Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say: It has been revealed to me that a party of the jinn listened, and they said: Surely we have heard a wonderful Quran, 1 which guides people to the right path and we believe in it. We shall never consider anyone equal to our Lord; 2 ‘And that our Lord’s Majesty is Supreme He has neither chosen a wife nor a child.’ 3 And the foolish among us were wont to forge lies against Allah exceedingly. 4 and that “we had thought that men and jinn would never speak a lie about Allah”, 5 "Certain human beings sought refuge with certain jinn and this increased the rebelliousness of those jinn. 6 So they began to think, even as you do, that God would not resurrect any one. 7 'And we have sought to reach the heaven; but found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. 8 we used to take up a position to listen, but whoever listens now finds a flaming fire lying in wait for him -- 9 And we know not whether evil is boded for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth for them a right direction. 10 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary; we are groups each having a different way (religious sect, etc.). 11 ‘And we are certain that we cannot defeat Allah in the earth, nor can we run out of His grasp.’ 12 'And indeed when we heard the Guidance (this Quran), we believed therein (Islamic Monotheism), and whosoever believes in his Lord shall have no fear, either of a decrease in the reward of his good deeds or an increase in punishment for his sins. 13 And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. 14 but those who are wrongdoers will become the fuel of Hell." 15 If they (non-Muslims) had believed in Allah, and went on the Right Way (i.e. Islam) We should surely have bestowed on them water (rain) in abundance. 16 as a trial for them. God will make those who disregard the guidance from their Lord suffer increasing torment. 17 ‘And that the mosques are for Allah only therefore do not worship anyone along with Allah.’ 18 And that when the servant of Allah stood up calling upon Him, they wellnigh crowded him (to death). 19
