In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O thou wrapped up in thy raiment! 1 Keep watch all the night except some, 2 (a half of it, or diminish a little, 3 or a little more; and with recitation, recite the Koran. 4 Behold, We shall cast upon you a Weighty Word. 5 Surely in the watches of the night the soul is most receptive and words more telling. 6 You have by day prolonged occupations [with Dawah work]. 7 But [whether by night or by day,] remember thy Sustainer's name, and devote thyself unto Him with utter devotion. 8 He is the only Lord, so choose Him as your guardian. 9 Bear patiently whatever they say, do not yield to them and keep on preaching decently to them. 10 Leave Me to those who cry lies, those prosperous ones, and respite them a little, 11 We have in store for them heavy fetters and a blazing Fire, 12 and food that chokes, and a painful chastisement, 13 upon the day when the earth and the mountains shall quake and the mountains become a slipping heap of sand. 14 We have sent a messenger who is a witness over you, just as We sent a messenger to Pharoah before you. 15 But Firon disobeyed the apostle, so We laid on him a violent hold. 16 How, then, if you refuse to acknowledge the truth, will you protect yourselves on that Day which shall turn the hair of children grey, 17 Whereon the sky will be cleft asunder? His Promise needs must be accomplished. 18 Surely this is a Reminder; so let him who will take unto his Lord a way. 19
