The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O you (Prophet Muhamad), the cloaked, 1 Rise up and warn! 2 And your Lord glorify 3 And your garments purify! 4 And pollution shun. 5 And show not favour, seeking wordly gain! 6 For the sake of thy Lord, be patient! 7 For when the trumpet shall sound, 8 That Day will be a difficult day 9 For the infidels, not easy. 10 Leave Me with the one I created alone 11 and to whom I have granted resources in abundance, 12 and children as [love's] witnesses, 13 I made things smooth and easy for him, 14 then he is eager that I should do more. 15 Never will he receive more. He has been hostile to Our revelations. 16 Soon I shall mount him on Saood, the hill of fire. 17 Verily he considered, and devised. 18 Perish he! How maliciously he devised! 19 Again (self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! - 20 and then he looks [around for new arguments,] 21 then he frowned, and scowled, 22 then he retreated, and waxed proud. 23 and said, "This is nothing but sorcery from the ancients. 24 This is nothing but the word of mortal man!" 25 I will cast him into the fire of Hell. 26 And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is? 27 It leaves and spares no one and nothing. 28 Scorching the skin. 29 there are nineteen [angels] in charge of it -- 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
