Nay, and by the moon, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 A warning for people -- 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 about the guilty ones: 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
