Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 By the night when it departs. 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 as if they were startled asses 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
