Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 As a warning unto men, 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 Of evil-doers: 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 we fed not the needy, 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until death approached us". 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 as if they were startled asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
