By no means! By the moon, 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 As they were frightened asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
