Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
By the moon, 32 by the retreating night, 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 except the people of the right hand 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 about the guilty ones: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
God the Almighty always says the truth.
