I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 a warning to humankind, 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 From the guilty. 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
