Nay, by the Moon 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 About the criminals, 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
