Nay, and by the moon, 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 A warning unto humankind 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 concerning the sinners, 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 until death approached us". 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 as if they were startled asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
