Nay! By the moon 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 about the guilty ones: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 as if they were startled asses 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
