Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
