Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon darkens 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
