Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
