Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
