Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
