Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
