Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
