Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
