Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
