The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has there [not] come upon man a period of time when he was not a thing [even] mentioned? 1 Surely We have created man from a small life-germ uniting (itself): We mean to try him, so We have made him hearing, seeing. 2 Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or be he ungrateful. 3 Verily, We have prepared for the disbelievers iron chains, iron collars, and a blazing Fire. 4 As to the Righteous, they shall drink of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Kafur,- 5 The Kafoor is a spring, from which the chosen bondmen of Allah will drink, causing it to flow wherever they wish inside their palaces. 6 These will be the ones who fulfil their vows and dread the Day whose woe shall be spread far and wide; 7 And they feed, for the love of Allah, the indigent, the orphan, and the captive,- 8 They say to them, “We give you food, only for the sake of Allah – we do not seek any reward or thanks from you.” 9 We fear the dismal day calamitous from our Lord." 10 So Allah saved them from the evil of that Day, and gave them Nadratan (a light of beauty) and joy. 11 and recompensed them for their patience with a Garden, and silk; 12 They will recline therein on couches and they will find neither excessive heat nor cold. 13 And near above them are its shades, and its [fruit] to be picked will be lowered in compliance. 14 And there will be circulated among them vessels of silver and cups having been [created] clear [as glass], 15 Godblets of silver, they shall have filled them to exact measure. 16 And they shall be given to drink from a cup whose mixture is ginger, 17 [derived from] a source [to be found] therein, whose name is "Seek Thy Way". 18 ۞ And there shall go round unto them youths ever-young. When thou seest them thou wouldst deem them pearls unstrung. 19 when thou seest them then thou seest bliss and a great kingdom. 20 Upon those [blest] will be garments of green silk and brocade; and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver. And their Sustainer will them to drink of a drink most pure. 21 Behold, this is a recompense for you, and your striving is thanked.' 22
