Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 Till a limit known? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 for the living and the dead? 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
