Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 separating one from another, 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 For a known calculated term. 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 The living and the dead, 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
