Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 storming tempestuously 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 excusing or warning, 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 when heaven shall be split 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a known calculated term. 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 the living and the dead? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
