50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 storming tempestuously 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
