Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 storming tempestuously 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 the living and the dead? 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
