In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 Till an appointed term, 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
