Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 when heaven shall be split 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 The living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
