Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 till a known term decreed? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 for the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
