Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 for an appointed term? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
