Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 For a known calculated term. 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
