In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what day is it timed? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 For a known calculated term. 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 The living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
