In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 storming tempestuously 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 for an appointed term? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
