Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 For a known extent. 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
