In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 for an appointed time? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
