Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 excusing or warning, 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 The living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
