Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 for an appointed term? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
