The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep [a means for] rest 9 made the night as a covering, 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30
