The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 About which they have been differing? 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 and made the day [a symbol of] life. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed. 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 And the mountains will be moved they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 a home for the transgressors, 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
