The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 About the great news - 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 For the transgressors, a place of return, 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 , A fitting reward. 26 They indeed hoped not for a reckoning, 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30
