The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep [a means for] rest 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 And made [therein] a burning lamp 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 Save boiling water and a paralysing cold: 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30
